Earwax Removal

Ear wax is a natural substance made in the skin of the ear canal. It serves a number of important functions including lubricating and protecting the delicate skin of the ear canal, as well as repelling insects. Ear wax is produced deep in the ear canal and gradually moves out naturally with the skin as it migrates outwards.

Earwax Cleaning Technique

Once ear wax reaches the outer ear, clean your ears with warm water and a flannel. It is very important to NEVER put anything in your ear canal.

Occasionally ear wax can build up in the ear canal, especially in those with very narrow ear canals or if you wear ear plugs or hearing aids regularly. In most cases it doesn’t cause hearing loss. For most people, a course of Audiclean will help the ear canal to expel the excess wax naturally. We can advise you on the best way to do this.

For those who need extra help with ear wax build-up, we use a combination of gentle micro suction and manual ENT tools to remove the wax. However, we are currently at capacity for this service and are not accepting new enquiries for wax removal.
